He left BBC Radio 5 and worked for many commercial radio stations including 102.2 Jazz FM, London’s Heart 106.2, London’s Rock XFM Station, BBC Radio 6 Music, 102.2 Smooth Radio, and a few more.

During his career, he also received many awards including a Fellowship by The Radio Academy in 2001. And, he was the only non-executive ever to be so honored in the academy’s 25 years.


He was in a relationship with his boyfriend Sean Griffin.

Death Cause:

He died on December 30th, 2007 and he died peacefully in his sleep as per his agent statement. He died one day before his 45th birthday. However, his cause of death is still a mystery. While he was buried on January 18th, 2008 in a woodland burial ground after a secular humanist farewell ceremony as it was one of his wishes when he was alive.

After his death, an award was named after him at the Student Radio Association’s annual Student Radio Awards. It is dedicated to recognizing unique on-air creativity for which he was well-known.
