James Lewis, has been buying and selling antiques since he was a very young child, making his first purchase of an English Pocket Watch whilst on a family holiday at the tender age of just 5 years old. Now after 25 years in the business he has been instrumental in establishing Derbyshire as a centre for antiques by opening Bamfords 2nd auction house in Bakewell and taking the company from 493rd nationally, into the top 10. James has been personally recognised for his talents by being voted Auctioneer of the Year 3 years in succession.
Now a familiar face on our TV screens, James appears as a regular expert on no less than 8 BBC shows, where some of his recent finds have helped rise over £7000 for the Royal Derby Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
